NEW! Weekly Update: I started this little segment last week where I share 3 little nuggets of my week with you before diving into the blog post!
A new goal I have set for myself is to tidy up the last 30 minutes of my work day before Caleb gets home from work. This is a sweet opportunity to welcome Caleb into a clean home and give me peace of mind when our home clutters quickly.
I had the opportunity to capture the most stunning Air bnb property in Stockholm, WI. More on that coming next week!!!
Something fun that I did this week was go to Suncrest Pizza farm with my family!
Now, let’s get to the blog post:
On July 13, I made a day trip (which turned into an overnight trip… we will talk about that later) 3 hours east of where I live, to Fon du Lac, Wisconsin. I headed to Fon du Lac to photograph a beautiful wedding day for a sweet couple named Alison & Riley. Allison & Riley reached out to me in March for a wedding photographer. I was available and so excited for their wedding day to arrive.Â
The wedding day started off at Hotel Retlaw in downtown Fon du Lac, where the couple, their wedding party, friends and family were getting ready. This hotel was STUNNING and had so much character to it. It was so unique. At the hotel, Allison and her bridesmaids got into their dresses and had their first look together. Once the first look with the bridesmaids took place, we took Allison to see her dad for their first look. This was such a sweet and intimate moment between the two of them. Lastly, we grabbed Riley and placed him in the beautiful hotel lobby for their first look. Following these three first looks, we made our way to Whispering Springs for the wedding party photos.Â
Upon arrival at Whispering Springs, I scoped out a couple of spots on the property, with the help of an employee at Whispering Springs, to find the perfect spot for photos. We landed on a beautiful location with trees and blooming flowers in the background. We gathered and took photos of the bridesmaids, groomsmen, the full wedding party and portraits of the bride and groom. After we spent some time taking these pictures, we headed to Holy Family Catholic Church in Fon du Lac, where the ceremony and post ceremony family photos took place. It was a beautiful service and lasted a little over an hour in length.Â
After the family photos took place, we made our way back to Whispering Springs for some more couple portraits, cocktail hour and into the reception.Â
For the couples portraits, we went back to the same spot as the wedding party photos and explored more of the golf grounds. The transportation was SO CONVENIENT as the golf course lended us two golf carts to ride around in. One cart for the couple, and another for myself. Following the couple’s portraits, their sweet puppy joined us for a couple of photos, too!
As the evening went on, it was time for the grand entrance and introduction of the wedding party and newly married couple. Allison & Riley’s wedding party was so much fun and truly, such a special group. When Allison & Riley entered the room, this building ERUPTED! Truly one of my favorite grand entrances ever… If not, the best! I truly feel like your guests can so heavily impact the feel of your day and once this grand entrance took place, I knew the dance floor would have so much energy and I couldn’t wait!Â
Overall, the day was so special and their vendors were amazing to work with!

This took place at a Golf Club called Whispering Springs. The Ceremony Location: The couple got married at Holy Family Catholic Church located in Fon du Lac, Wisconsin.
